Dog Beach

In Castiglione della Pescaia, dogs and pets are allowed access to designated free beaches, which include:

  • Dog Beach Selene – near the parking lot at the Selene pine forest, with access at Km 26 of the SP158, cycle path side;
  • Dog Beach Rocchette – in the Rocchette area, near the Serignano parking lot, with access from the path alongside the Serignano canal; it is about 400 m from there, in an easterly direction;
  • Dog Beach Piastrone – in the Piastrone area of Punta Ala.

These beaches can be accessed and used for free and are open daily from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm throughout the bathing season.

At Dog Beach in Castiglione della Pescaia, dogs can exercise, run and play freely, without a leash or muzzle, and even enjoy a swim under the supervision and responsibility of their owners, provided they avoid causing damage to property and/or people.

Access is permitted to dogs that are vaccinated for the main infectious diseases and have a tattoo/microchip.

Rules to follow at Dog Beach in Castiglione della Pescaia:

  • on the beach you must observe a reasonable distance from other people to avoid aggressive behaviour with other dogs there and ensure that your dog does not cause any disturbance to the neighbourhood;
  • promptly remove any poop from the ground and put it, sealed in a plastic bag, into the provided containers;
  • take the dog’s vaccination card with you when you go there;
  • do not lead the animals out of the regulated area;
  • the beaches do not have shade, water or a rescue service and therefore the animal’s owner is solely responsible for provision of these needs;
  • remove all items used while there from the beach area.
