Western Coast

The beaches in Castiglione della Pescaia can be divided into the western beach, which stretches from the canal port to Punta Ala, and the eastern beach, which runs in a southerly direction from the canal to Marina di Grosseto.

The western and eastern beaches have similar characteristics: soft, light sand and a crystal-clear blue sea with sloping sandy seabeds, perfect both for children and for swimmers, and featuring bathing facilities as well as large areas of beaches with free access.

The western beach, from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the castle that overlooks the town from the medieval village, has sandy beaches that alternate with rocky promontories jutting into the sea and outcropping cliffs, as in the Capezzolo area or in Rocchette, further to the north.

The beach is easily accessible on foot from the town centre, or along the cycle path that runs northwards.

The western side ends at Punta Ala, with its famous marina, the scene of numerous sailing regattas, as well as spacious beaches that offer breathtaking sunsets.
